Family Law
We help clients through divorce, annulment and legal separations. Family law is not only divorce, however, and we offer counseling in every area relating to the family, including premarital or prenuptial agreements, mutual property agreements, adoption, parental rights issues, visitation rights of others, and post-divorce and post-paternity motions. We are also experienced with juvenile and Child in Need of Protective Services (CHIPS) matters.
Business
We provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of business planning and operation, including the formation and dissolution of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited liability partnerships, and sole proprietorships.
Estate Planning
Each person has specific needs and goals as they plan for the future of their family and their estate. We will work with you to understand the value of your estate and the options you have to protect your assets and your family, allowing you to select the appropriate instruments to accomplish the goals you have set. We assist in the preparation of plans for estates including wills, living trusts, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, special needs trusts, partnerships, family limited partnerships, and durable powers of attorney for financial and healthcare purposes.
Real Estate
We represent buyers and sellers of real estate; residential and commercial property owners; and all types of contractual relationships. We defend the rights of owners and users of real property to protect their boundaries, preserve their rights to use the waters bounding their land, and their rights to use their property. We draft easement and other agreements concerning access to property, use of property or sharing of utilities. We represent owners of real estate in their transactions with zoning and planning authorities of the state, county, and municipal governments.
Criminal Defense
A person charged with a crime has suddenly become an unwilling and vulnerable participant in a complex legal process. You want to know your options and potential consequences at the beginning of the process. We provide knowledgeable and experienced defense for clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors, repeat operating while intoxicated offenses, probation revocations, and parole and extended supervision re-commitments.
Probate
We help clients through the probate process. This includes gathering and interpreting estate planning documents, locating and marshaling estate property, representing the estate in court proceedings, and distributing estate property and proceeds to the intended recipients.
